This site was created by Molly McMaster who was diagnosed at stage II colon cancer on her 23rd birthday.  She wanted to do a "crazy thing" to raise awareness of the disease and created a colossal colon that travels the country.

Locks of love is a not-profit organization that mostly provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children (18 and younger) in need of hair due to a disease called alopecia areata.

   The new colon cancer symbol 

The symbol is a star, representing the eternal memory of those people whose lives have already been lost to the disease and the shining hope for a future free of colon cancer. The star is merged with the more common ribbon for awareness theme and assumes a human shape.
